That old dream, tucked away deep in your heart. The passion you thought had faded. Isn’t there a night when that ‘forgotten sound of yourself’ suddenly echoes in a quiet moment? Nanasuke presents ‘Echoes of a Six-String Dream -Late Night Serenade-,’ a nostalgic and emotional track capturing exactly that moment. The story of teenage frustration, the love for music rekindled over time, and the journey back to picking up a guitar is woven through beautiful acoustic guitar arpeggios, heart-stirring electric guitar sounds, and poignant synthesizer tones. This is a late-night serenade for everyone who has ever had a dream they almost gave up on.
Echoes of a Six-String Dream -Late Night Serenade-
“Man, high school…those were the days, right? Thought I’d be a rock god, shreddin’ on some big stage… Reality hit me like a power chord gone wrong, though…”
[Intro]
[Verse 1] Locker posters, faded rock ‘n’ roll dream High school nights, fueled by that guitar gleam Part-time gigs, for that six-string’s call Stuffed those dollar bills, hopin’ to have it all
[Verse 2] Fingers bleedin’, chasin’ that perfect sound But the chords were jumbled, never quite renowned Frustration simmered, the dream began to fade Traded picks for pixels, a digital serenade
[Chorus] Synthesizer glow, replaced the amplifier’s hum Created worlds of sound, where my fingers felt less numb But those echoes linger, a six-string’s ghostly trace A melody unfinished, in this grown-up space
“Years go by, you get a job, a life, you know? But every time I hear a killer guitar solo… Something stirs inside, that kid with stars in his eyes… Wonderin’ what if, beneath these city skies…”
[Verse 3] Suit and tie now, the stage is a corner office desk But those riffs still haunt me, puttin’ my heart to the test A guitar leans dusty, in the closet’s dim light A silent promise, from a long forgotten night
[Bridge] They say dreams fade out, with the passing years But mine’s just sleepin’, waitin’ to conquer fears Maybe it’s not too late, to chase that fading sound To pick up that old guitar, and turn my life around
[Chorus] The six-string calls again, a rhythm in my soul Tonight, I’ll answer, takin’ back control No more shadows, no more what ifs in my mind This guitar dream’s reborn, one chord at a time
[Outro]
Song Overview
Nanasuke’s Comment
“This song is actually based on my own past story. Back when I was in high school, there was a big band boom in Japan, with TV shows like ‘Ikasu Band Tengoku’ being popular. Like many others, I really got into electric guitar, especially longing for a Les Paul because Slash was my hero. I worked part-time trying to save up, borrowed an acoustic guitar from a senior student to practice… but I just couldn’t seem to get the hang of it, and eventually, I gave up on the guitar.
Instead, I got absorbed in making music on the school’s PC-9801 computer. On Saturday afternoons, I’d hang out in the computer club room (even though I wasn’t a member!) and program music using BASIC. I owe a lot to the legendary ‘Be-Maga’ (Microcomputer BASIC Magazine) back then. I even exhibited my computer-made songs at the school festival (lol). The actual club members were usually just playing PC-98 games next to me… things were pretty relaxed back then.
After getting a job, I became ‘listen-only’ regarding music for a while. But one day, I casually walked into a music store and saw a white Epiphone Les Paul Custom… Even though I couldn’t play, I bought it on impulse (lol). That started a period of intense practice. Once I could finally play somewhat decently, I visited the music store again, and this time, a Gibson Les Paul Standard (Cherry Sunburst!) was hanging on the wall. I felt it was destiny and immediately decided to trade in the Epiphone for it, even though it meant taking a huge leap (and cost a fortune!).
After that, I took lessons from a professional and eventually got to the point where I could play reasonably well in front of people. I still have that Gibson Les Paul today; it’s my precious partner. This song, ‘Echoes of a Six-String Dream,’ is the story of that personal journey, from giving up the guitar to my reunion with that fateful Les Paul.”
